Technician Hiring Specialist
About the role
Penske is seeking a Hiring Specialist for our Technician Hiring Center. This role works in our hiring center and supports operations across the United States and Canada. You will work as part of a team dedicated to providing a high-touch, personal approach to technician candidates.
Responsibilities
Lead Sourcing and Management: Source and manage candidate leads via various methods, qualify candidates, and present the total value proposition. Accurately capture and manage candidate information in our lead capture system, Salesforce.com.
Application Completion and Candidate Management: Take phone applications, ensure applications are fully complete and accurate, and manage candidates in our application system, ORC.
Phone Screening and Selection: Conduct phone and/or video interviews, ensure candidates meet minimum qualifications, and make hiring decisions.
Scheduling meet and greet/manager introduction sessions, provide offer letters, initiate background screening services.
Recruiting Administration and Coordination: Ensure compliance with hiring laws and regulations, manage candidate processes, and demonstrate commitment to diversity and inclusion.
Experience Requirements
External Candidates: At least 2 years of work experience in recruiting, call centers, retail, or managing/skilled trades workers.
Internal Candidates: At least 6 months as a Recruiting Assistant or 1 year from another similar-level role within Penske.
Skills
Ability to interact professionally with applicants and associates.
Excellent communication and customer service skills with keen attention to detail.
Multitasking, planning, organizing workload, and handling pressure.
Quick learning ability and willingness to work independently.
Requirements
Regular, predictable, full attendance is essential.
Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment with defined performance metrics.
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Willingly to travel as necessary.
Physical Requirements
The associate will be required to: read, communicate verbally and/or in writing, remember and analyze information, and follow instructions or guidelines. They will stand, walk, and sit frequently, lift up to 25lbs/12kg, use hands to touch, handle, and feel, and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities include close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
