Technician, Facility Services, Power Washing

About the Role

Operate and maintain pressure washing equipment and related machinery to clean various surfaces and perform facility maintenance. This role involves evaluating areas to be cleaned, determining appropriate pressure and temperature settings, and ensuring surfaces meet facility standards. You will also perform seasonal exterior maintenance, including snow and ice management, and coordinate with stakeholders to support operational needs.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain pressure washing equipment, including pumps, hoses, nozzles, and accessories to clean surfaces such as walls, sidewalks, roofs, parking lots, trash chutes, and compactors.
• Evaluate areas to be cleaned and determine appropriate pressure levels, temperature settings, and operational methods.
• Remove dirt, debris, trash, and other contaminants to ensure surfaces meet facility standards.
• Follow established safety procedures and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries while working with high-pressure equipment.
• Perform safety and preventative maintenance checks on power washing machinery, including monitoring oil and gas levels, performing oil changes, and replacing seals and filters.
• Maintain equipment inventory, install normal wear parts, and ensure all tools are stored properly between uses.
• Operate and maintain corporate vehicles, including box trucks, ensuring they are stocked and in proper working order.
• Conduct pre-trip, in-route, and post-trip inspections of mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment for vehicles.
• Report maintenance or safety concerns in accordance with company policies and coordinate vehicle maintenance.
• Perform seasonal exterior maintenance activities, such as snow and ice management, by operating snow removal equipment and applying de-icing materials.
• Evaluate current and future replacement needs for facility elements like mulch, rock, trees, shrubs, and sod.
• Implement upgrades to convert facilities into sustainable units and explore improvements to lower operating costs.
• Coordinate with Home Office support to standardize equipment and reduce on-hand stock.
• Source tools and equipment for repairs and ensure completed work meets quality and safety requirements.
• Respond to work orders using phones, tablets, or laptops to record tasks, maintain logs, and update documentation.
• Communicate with facility users to troubleshoot issues, resolve service requests, and provide updates.
• Build relationships with key stakeholders to support operational needs across facilities.
• Operate, inspect, and maneuver heavy machinery and powered equipment (e.g., forklifts, material handling equipment) in accordance with training and safety procedures.
• Perform pre-operation safety checks and post-operation inspections to ensure equipment is safe and functional.
• Identify unsafe conditions, equipment malfunctions, or potential hazards and take corrective action or escalate as required.
• Comply with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards, including the Open Door Policy.
• Complete work assignments and priorities by collaborating with managers, coworkers, and other business partners.
• Perform additional facility-related maintenance duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Ability to successfully complete a DOT physical and secure medical certification during pre-hire contingency, maintaining a minimum 90-day Medical Examiner's Certification (MEC) card.
• No convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI, or reckless driving involving alcohol or drugs within the last three (3) years.
• No more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years if driving a commercial motor vehicle.
• No serious traffic violations (as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations) in the last three (3) years if operating a commercial motor vehicle.
• No preventable accidents (as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations) in the last three (3) years if operating a commercial motor vehicle.
• Ability to read and speak in the English language as required by Section 391.11(b)(2) of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
• Ability to work alternative shifts, including overnight or weekends.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
• Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, or OUI within the last five (5) years.
• Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in power washing or exterior maintenance.
• Experience using intermediate-level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Proficiency in speaking and understanding Spanish.
• State or local licensing where required (e.g., Florida, Texas, California).

Pay

The hourly wage range for this position is $19.00 - $35.00. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances, such as based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed.
