About the role
EAG Laboratories, part of the Eurofins group of companies, is seeking a ESD Technician for its Engineering Sciences lab in Irvine, California. The role involves providing ESD & Latch-up test services to various technology-based sectors, supporting clients ranging from startups to Fortune 500 companies.
Responsibilities
- Running weekly diagnostics on MK4, and Orion CDM testers
- Running parts through MK4, and Orion CDM testers
- Interpreting data result files
- Processing images from data result files
- Importing and exporting files from testers
- Moving parts around using tweezers or vacuum pickup tools
- Packing tested parts for transportation to a customer or other lab / facility
- Compiling images and other information for reports
Requirements
- AA in electronics or related field OR HS diploma with 2+ years of direct experience in electronics testing using automated testers
- Understands the basic of electronic packaging
- Knows how to use a microscope, calipers, DVM, resistance meters, and oscilloscopes
- Understands safe handling of integrated circuits with respect to electrostatic discharge
- Must be able to use a computer with some proficiency
- Must be able to clearly communicate, both oral and written
- Maintain good organizational skills
Qualifications
- Education and Experience: AA in electronics or related field OR HS diploma with 2+ years of direct experience in electronics testing using automated testers
- Job Knowledge, Skills, and Ability: Understands the basic of electronic packaging; knows how to use a microscope, calipers, DVM, resistance meters, and oscilloscopes; understands safe handling of integrated circuits with respect to electrostatic discharge; must be able to use a computer with some proficiency; must be able to clearly communicate, both oral and written; maintain good organizational skills
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
- Ability to continuously operate a personal computer or lab equipment for extended periods of time (4 or more hours)
- Ability to operate a keyboard and other lab equipment, use a telephone, access file cabinets and other items stored at various levels, including overhead
- Ability to communicate clearly and understandably ensure an accurate exchange of information in normal conversational distance, over the telephone, and in a group setting
- Ability to handle small and fragile devices with tweezers and /or fingers
- Require close distance visual acuity with or without correction (Glasses, Contacts, etc.)
- Must be willing and able to wear PPE such as hard-hat, steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, laboratory coat and/or any other devices or equipment that is required
- Learn new tasks, remember processes, maintain focus, complete tasks independently, make timely decisions in the context of a workflow, ability to communicate with visitors, ability to complete tasks in situations that have a speed or productivity quota
- Ability to move equipment or items up to 50 lbs.
Compensation
Compensation Range: $25-30/hour. Geographical location, years of experience and degree of technical expertise will determine level of pay.
Schedule
Initial Schedule would be a swing shift (flexible) but start time would be noon or later. 3-5 days per week to start. This would be a contact part-time position to start.
