Technician (DoD Skillbridge)

About the role

This is a full-time, on-site role for a drone and sensor Technician. As a Drone and Sensor Technician, you will play a critical role in the development and maintenance of unmanned aerial systems (UAS), commonly known as drones, and the associated sensors used in various applications.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and configure drones, including frame assembly, motor installation, drone electronics, and wiring.
• Translate engineering specifications into physical assembly.
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections to ensure drones are in working condition.
• Troubleshoot and repair any technical issues that arise.
• Perform electronics assembly on printed circuit boards. This includes manual and soldering oven assembly.
• Build sensor wiring harnesses.
• Perform pre-flight checks and post-flight inspections to guarantee safe and effective drone operation.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to provide input for drone and sensor design improvements.
• Work closely with colleagues to ensure smooth project operations and timely deliveries.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

• Experience with assembly/repair/manufacture of mechanical systems.
• Experience with electrical assembly or repair.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and desire to learn.

Desired Qualifications:

• Strong connection to Idaho (apart from Skillbridge internship).
• Formal electronics assembly and repair training.
• Formal wiring harness assembly training.
• Experience with aircraft maintenance.
• Experience with manufacturing wiring harnesses.
