Key Responsibilities
- Install and mount security devices, including: IP security cameras (indoor and outdoor), access control door hardware, intercom master and remote stations, intrusion detection devices, motion detectors, Optex Redscan sensors, and key management systems (TRAKA).
- Install, route, support, and secure low-voltage cabling for security systems.
- Terminate copper and low-voltage cabling at field devices, junction boxes, and intermediate pull points.
- Assemble, install, and secure: equipment racks, wall-mounted rack enclosures, access control panels, wall- and floor-mounted control cabinets, Power Distribution Units (PDUs).
- Install and label cables in accordance with project drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
- Read and interpret construction drawings, wiring diagrams, floor plans, and installation documents.
- Cover installation activities with project managers, general contractors, electricians, and other trades.
- Maintain organized work areas and ensure proper cable management throughout the installation process.
- Perform quality inspections to verify proper installation and workmanship.
- Identify installation issues and communicate field changes or deficiencies to project management.
- Follow all company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and site-specific safety procedures.
- Complete daily reports and maintain accurate documentation of completed work.
Qualifications
- Experience installing commercial low-voltage security systems.
- Knowledge of structured cabling installation and termination techniques.
- Experience installing security cameras, access control hardware, intrusion detection devices, and related equipment.
- Familiarity with equipment racks, control panels, and cable management best practices.
- Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and testing equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in active construction environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, intercom, or key management systems.
- Experience in commercial construction or data center environments.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
- Lift, ladder, or manufacturer certifications are a plus.
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
