Technician Diesel Mechanic

About the role

Ryder is hiring a Diesel Technician in Suncook, New Hampshire. This position offers a stable career with weekly pay and excellent benefits.

Responsibilities

• Assist and train Technicians as needed
• Provide customer service to daily customers
• Give feedback to the Service Manager on employee performance for appraisal or disciplinary purposes
• Oversight of parts distribution & inventory, shop reporting, warranty recovery, unit tracking, payroll administration, and other duties as assigned

Requirements

• 18 years of age or older
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Vocational or Technical Certification, preferred
• Post Secondary degree or Technical Certifications, preferred
• Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
• Four (4) years or more relevant work experience, preferred
• Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A, preferred
• Minimum Tech II up to Tech IV qualifications plus a minimum of 6 months supervisory or training experience
• Proficient in SMO, SBT, payroll system, warranty recovery, and employee handbook
• Thorough understanding of Unit utilization procedures

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License and ability to meet Ryder's driving qualifications
• Ability to work flexible schedules including shift work, weekends, holidays, and on-call rotations for roadside assistance
• Thorough understanding of Unit utilization procedures
• Ability to drive Ryder vehicles

Skills

• Basic tools
• Computer experience in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, internet and other related
• Maintenance computerized programs in order to create reports or communicate with customers, vendors and company representatives

Pay

Hourly Pay: $43.25 per hour

Schedule

Monday–Friday
First Shift 9:30 am – 5:30 pm

Additional Requirements

• Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
