About the role
Assist the Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments and Teacher of the Deaf with students who are Deaf-Blind by providing consistent one-to-one support. The intervener helps the student gain access to information and communication, facilitates the development of their social and emotional well-being, accompanies students on field trips, assists with daily living skills, and promotes a trusting and secure relationship with the learner and others in their environment.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate the process of accessing information usually gained through vision and hearing
- Facilitate the development of the learner’s receptive and expressive communication
- Promote a trusting and secure relationship with the learner and with other people in the learner’s world
Pay
Starting rate of $20.52 per hour (Range 13: $20.52 – $33.38).
