Responsibilities
- Issuing, stocking, and delivering supplies to all areas and departments in the Central Supply department.
- Central Supply stock replenishment, par stock replenishment, equipment cleaning, and data entry.
- Providing departments with appropriate supplies via the Par Level system.
- Inventoried and restocked areas in a timely manner.
- Straightened carts, fronted stock, and ensured an organized layout before replenishments.
- Stickered chargeable supplies as required.
- Maintained close communication with Department Manager and Buyer regarding supply needs and/or problems.
- Ran daily ETO and steam sterilizers.
- Maintained accurate sterilizer logs and performed biological and DART tests.
- Followed safety procedures during decontamination and sterilization processes.
- Responded to special requests for supplies.
- Requisitioned and delivered supplies or equipment to requesting departments.
- Made house rounds to check for dirty equipment returning to stock.
- Distributed stand-by equipment at the beginning of each shift.
- Inputted items into the computer to charge departments for supplies and patients for equipment.
- Posted all issues daily to departments for stock used via the Simon System.
- Maintained accurate equipment charges using the CAMS computer system.
- Batched and sent patient charge cards to Data Processing on-time, daily.
- Restocked Crash Carts and Specialty Carts.
- Responded quickly and accurately to unit requests for replenishment of Central Service items.
- Promoted a positive image of the department.
- Answered phone calls courteously and responded to requests for service promptly and pleasantly.
- Treated co-workers, both intra and inter-departmentally, with respect.
Qualifications
- High School or Equivalent education.
- One year of Central Supply or other hospital experience preferred.
- CRCST certification preferred.
