Responsibilities
- Advanced Mechanical & Vehicle Systems - Diagnoses, service, and repair HVAC systems, including component replacement and system performance verification.
- Perform axle, suspension, and steering component repair and replacement in accordance with OEM specifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve NVH (noise, vibration, and harshness) concerns using structured diagnostic processes.
- Electrical, High Voltage & Safety Systems - Demonstrate competent electrical aptitude while diagnosing and repairing low-voltage and high-voltage systems.
- Perform high-voltage system diagnostics, including identification and resolution of HV interlock loop faults.
- Execute high-voltage safety lockout/tagout procedures, including LV/HV isolation, in compliance with safety standards.
- Replace onboard chargers, charge ports, and associated high-voltage components as required.
- Perform advanced harness repairs, including cable, pigtail, and connector-level repairs.
- Diagnostics, Software & Firmware - Conduct advanced software diagnostics to identify system faults across vehicle control modules.
- Perform firmware updates and validate proper system functionality post-update.
- Troubleshoot moderate software and firmware issues affecting vehicle performance or system integration.
- Utilize OEM diagnostic platforms to interpret fault data and determine root cause effectively.
- Calibrations & System Integration - Perform any and all required system calibrations following repairs or component replacements.
- Support ADAS-related calibration processes in alignment with OEM procedures and safety standards.
- Verify post-repair vehicle readiness through functional testing and validation.
- Thermal & Cooling Systems - Perform coolant evacuation and refill procedures for EV thermal management systems.
- Diagnose and repair cooling system faults related to batteries, power electronics, and cabin HVAC.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 years of automotive service experience, including at least 2 years of Hybrid or EV OEM experience.
- A minimum of three ASE certifications (A1–A8) is required.
- ASE xEV Level 1 and Level 2 certifications are required.
- Demonstrated experience with high-voltage diagnostics, module replacement, and advanced system troubleshooting.
- Strong working knowledge of EV safety protocols, software-driven diagnostics, and calibration processes.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining high standards for safety, quality, and documentation.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, continuously stand, bend, reach, walk, sit and kneel frequently, enter, exit and drive vehicles.
