Technician

About the Role

Assists technicians in maintaining and repairing Baggage Handling Systems (BHS) and Passenger Boarding Bridges (PBB).

Responsibilities

• Supports routine, preventive, and emergency maintenance tasks, including clearing jams, inspections, cleaning, and mechanical/electrical adjustments.
• Diagnoses equipment failures under supervision, ensuring safety compliance.
• Reads repair manuals, schematics, and follows instructions from senior staff.
• Works in confined and high spaces with appropriate PPE and fall protection.
• Completes safety training and documentation.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of mechanical or BHS/PBB experience, or ability to pass a mechanical aptitude test.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Basic computer skills and communication proficiency in English.
• Physical ability to perform demanding tasks, including lifting and working in various positions.

Preferred Skills

• Airport environment experience, especially on conveyors or boarding bridges.
• Strong problem-solving, teamwork, safety awareness, and organizational skills.
• Ability to build relationships, make sound decisions, and work under pressure.

Physical & Work Environment

Requires physical activity, including standing, walking, climbing, and lifting, in dusty, noisy airport settings. Must obtain security credentials and maintain a valid driver’s license.
