About the Role

Think Power Solutions Engineering is looking for a highly skilled and knowledgeable Technician to support electric utility infrastructure projects across Texas. If you have a solid background in electric distribution utility staking and layout, surveying, design, easements and right of way management, we want to hear from you. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform field surveys and staking for power line construction
  • Work with GPS, AutoCAD, and GIS software
  • Work with landowners and team members to draft and design utility infrastructure layouts
  • Apply AutoCAD and GIS software tools to develop detailed utility infrastructure designs
  • Prepare and review staking sheets, construction drawings, and material lists
  • Coordinate with landowners, engineers, project managers and permitting agencies (e.g., TxDOT)
  • Ensure compliance with utility standards, safety codes (e.g., RUS, NESC), and company protocols
  • Maintain accurate records and field documentation
  • Maintain and care for field tools and equipment
  • Perform regular inspections and maintenance on field equipment and vehicles, ensuring compliance with operational and safety standards
  • Travel to job sites across the region using company-provided vehicle and equipment
  • Support a variety of tasks based on project needs

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Familiarity with RUS construction standards, NESC, and utility permitting
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, GIS, and/or GPS-based field tools
  • Understanding of electric distribution line design and easements
  • Attention to detail, self-motivation, and the ability to work independently
  • Good communication skills and conflict management
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Requirements

  • 2-4+ years of utility staking or electric utility field experience
  • Valid Texas driver's license + clean driving record
  • Willing to work outdoors and travel regularly
  • Strong work ethic and professionalism
