About the role

The Technician at Midwest Eye Consultants plays a crucial role in the clinical team by preparing patients and exam rooms for eye examinations, performing preliminary testing, and assisting physicians with various procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for eye examinations by communicating the features and benefits of preliminary testing procedures.
  • Perform all preliminary and any doctor requested tests on all patients.
  • Aid optometrists and ophthalmologists with patient procedures.
  • Cook up patient scheduling and monitor patient flow throughout the office, effectively communicating delays.
  • Prepare exam room by cleaning instruments and maintaining inventory of medications and supplies.
  • Ensure the practice's quality standards are met, while completing specific, essential responsibilities that enhance the patient's experience and communication.
  • Assume other duties and responsibilities as determined by the office manager or team lead, and the doctors.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Stand for sustained periods of time, stoop, grasp, lift, talk, and hear.
  • Lift up to 15 lbs. on a regular basis from floor to waist, 5 lbs. from waist to shoulder, and 5 lbs. from shoulder to overhead.
  • Have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.
