Technician, Assembly Test - Repair/Overhaul

Triumph Actuation and Landing Gear Systems, based in Yakima, WA, designs, manufactures, assembles, tests, and provides MRO services for aerospace products and systems. Responsibilities

The Assembly Test Technician 2 will work in the Repair & Overhaul Department, rotating annually between 1st and 3rd shifts. The 1st shift is from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and the 3rd shift is from 10:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. A 15% shift premium is added to the base hourly rate for 3rd shift work. Overtime, including occasional weekends, may be required.

• Perform mechanical assembly, functional tests, test setups, and finish operations on product lines with little to no supervision.
• Perform functional tests to maximize quality and productivity while working on multiple machines.
• Determine the sequence of assembly operations to optimize the process and achieve maximum productivity and quality.
• Identify opportunities for methods improvement and determine cause and corrective action through failure analysis.
• Maintain orderly and retrievable records of work performed and complete records of test setups, shop books, photos, and procedures.
• Work with hazardous chemicals and may involve prolonged exposure to caustic oils.
• Setup and conduct tests and experiments on components and complete units to evaluate design characteristics and performance of test items.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
• Minimum of 2 years' related experience required.
• Safety-oriented and willing to participate in continuous improvement team discussions.
• General mechanical knowledge/background required.
• Preferred knowledge of advanced hydraulic and electro-hydraulic theory and formula.

Skills & Competencies

• Safe use of hand/power tools.
• Knowledge/background of precision measuring equipment.
• Ability to follow instructions (oral and/or written).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and hydraulic diagrams is a plus.
• Intermediate computer skills.
• Ability to problem-solve during test evaluations.
• Willing to work in a team environment and participate in team process improvement discussions/projects.

Pay

The position pay range is $22.81 - $32.20 per hour. The hiring range and position pay range may differ, commensurate with education level, qualifications, and experience.
