Technician Apprentice

Are you an eager self-starter that loves to troubleshoot and fix things? As a Garage Door Technician at Precision Garage Door Service, you’ll receive training so that you can be up and running quickly with your own company vehicle and stream of customers. We will train and provide you with all the necessary tools to grow your career as far as you want to take it! You will be front and center helping our customers by repairing, replacing, and installing garage doors. You’ll put the customers at ease, making sure they fully understand the service options available that’ll get the job done correctly. Responsibilities
- Repair and install garage door parts and equipment on-site at customer locations
- Diagnose and repair garage doors, door operators, and replace worn or broken door parts
- Install new equipment including doors and replace springs
- Educate customers by explaining service options to repair issues and prevent future ones
- Review and explain completed work to customers so they fully understand what was performed
- Sell services and new equipment using a good/better/best model and collect payment from customers
- Manage inventory in your vehicle to ensure you have the right tools and products to service equipment and sell jobs

Requirements
- Mechanical aptitude and technical skills
- Ability to lift 50 pounds independently
- Ability to bend, climb, kneel, and stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to work in heat and cold, both outside and inside garages that may not be temperature-controlled
- Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with customers and solve issues
- Ability to communicate and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Reliability and ability to follow process to serve customers
- Experience in the garage door industry is preferred but not required—training provided
- Ability to use a computer and/or tablet
- Comfort using hand tools and operating mechanical equipment
