Technician Apprentice

Responsibilities
- Learn the Craft
- Assist with the installation, service, and maintenance of commercial dock and door equipment under the direct guidance of experienced technicians
- Participate in basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting tasks — rolling doors, sectional doors, levelers, and dock equipment
- Learn to safely use hand tools, power tools, and basic fabrication equipment to support installation and repair tasks
- Study and apply technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and documentation alongside experienced teammates
- Maintain a safe, clean job site and follow all OSHA safety protocols, PPE requirements, and fall protection standards
- Document service activities accurately — work performed, parts used, observations — building habits that define a professional technician
- Develop customer communication skills by assisting in job status updates and explaining service needs clearly and professionally
- Participate in the ADVANCE training program daily, completing required coursework and demonstrating learned skills on the job
Requirements
- Valid, current state-issued driver's license — you'll be traveling to customer sites daily
- Ability to meet physical demands: frequent standing, bending, ladder use, and lifting up to 50 pounds regularly
- Willingness to participate in DuraServ's ADVANCE training program
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent — trade school certificate or diploma accepted and valued
- Background or exposure to welding, mechanical systems, hydraulics, or electrical work
- No dock and door experience required — we will train the right person from the ground up
