About the Role

The Airframe and Powerplant Technician III inspects, repairs, overhauls, upgrades, and cleans aircraft in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration regulations, aircraft manufacturer recommendations, and company policies. This role involves maintaining detailed records of all work conducted, inspections performed, conditions found, and safety compliance. Senior Technicians perform engine runs, taxi operations, engine rigging, flight control rigging, and troubleshoot aircraft systems. They also mentor junior mechanics, supervise crews, manage multiple projects, and communicate effectively with customers and senior leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance planning
  • Supervise and manage projects and technicians
  • Communicate with senior leadership and customers
  • Inspect work performed
  • Perform complex troubleshooting of aircraft systems
  • Execute complex engine and flight control rigging
  • Perform engine run and taxi operations
  • Understand and execute flat rates
  • Collaborate as part of a team, follow directions, and adhere to company policies
  • Mentor junior mechanics and provide supervision for crews of 8-12 technicians
  • Prep, plan, and execute large inspections and projects

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or equivalent and ten plus years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license
  • Completion of multiple airframe schools
  • Ability to analyze and interpret industry journals, financial reports, and legal documents
  • Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or business community members
  • Ability to effectively present information
  • High moral and ethical standards
  • Strong focus, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple crews and projects
  • Patience and ability to mentor junior technicians
  • Effective communication with senior leadership and customers
