About the Role
The Airframe and Powerplant Technician II inspects, repairs, overhauls, upgrades, and cleans aircraft in accordance with all Federal Aviation Administration regulations, aircraft manufacturer recommendations, and company policies and procedures. Technicians maintain detailed records of all work conducted, inspections performed, conditions found, and safety compliance. This role involves complex troubleshooting, engine run and taxi on multiple aircraft, basic engine and flight control rigging, and mentoring junior mechanics while managing multiple projects.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret maintenance manuals (MM) and inspection guides
- Supervise and manage projects and technicians
- Perform general and routine maintenance
- Inspect work performed
- Conduct complex troubleshooting of aircraft systems
- Perform complex engine and flight control rigging
- Conduct engine run and taxi operations
- Work collaboratively as part of a team, follow directions, and adhere to company policies
- Supervise two to three Airframe and Powerplant Technician I mechanics
- Communicate with customers, estimate tasks, and understand basic wiring and structures
Requirements
- Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school and two or more years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license
- Completion of two or more airframe courses
Qualifications
- Ability to analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, or the general public
