Technician 2 Power- South Valley

About the role

Bring your energy to Aggreko as Technician 2 Power based in Reno, Nevada. You’ll work as a team and independently in shops and at customer sites to service, repair, commission, and operate Aggreko products. This role will be supporting natural gas solutions at the South Valley/Peru Ridge data center customer site. Power without pause. Heating, cooling and oil‑free air without end. We keep our customers’ worlds on. From world‑class events that last a few weeks to mining operations and remote communities who rely on us for decades.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and execute moderate repairs of power generators, diesel engines, electrical distribution equipment, HVAC equipment, and/or oil‑free air compressors.
• Troubleshoot extensive equipment failures at the shop or on customer locations, test and handle the repairs on your own or with another technician(s).
• Complete necessary paperwork timely and accurately, which may include data entry and general use of relevant computer systems and software as directed.
• Lead moderate job site setups and mentor lower‑level technicians.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of, actively practice, and promote safe working conditions in accordance with OSHA, EPA and other required regulations dealing with safe operation of all equipment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain & maintain any certifications required to operate equipment per federal, state and/or local ordinances.
• Ability to stand, walk and sit for prolonged periods; walk over uneven terrain without special assistive devices.
• Ability to move extremities and spine through a full range of motion to work safely from ground/floor level to overhead.
• Good finger dexterity, hand‑eye coordination, and sufficient grip strength to safely hold tools and use stair railings or ladders.
• Ability to meet the physical demands outlined in the Essential Physical Capacities Assessment, including lifting 60 lbs, pushing/pulling 80 lbs, carrying 60 lbs, climbing stairs/ladders, and performing combined climbing while carrying 15 lbs, plus stooping, kneeling and squatting.

Qualifications

• Technical aptitude: knowledge of generators, industrial HVAC equipment, air compressors, electrical distribution, power generation, load banks, and/or BESS products.
• Mechanically inclined: familiar with hand‑tool operation, automotive lube/oil change, troubleshooting and testing experience.
• Ability to perform physical work while thinking through and resolving technical problems; willing to get hands dirty, sweat, and interact with internal and external customers to deliver solutions that meet/exceed requirements.
• Well‑rounded, multi‑skilled technician capable of working across multiple product lines.

Skills

• Mentor and be a leader of projects.
• Safety performance measured via First Aid readiness, OSHA recordables, risks reported, etc.
• Equipment readiness (Sets in Service), minimizing downtime, and maximizing speed of turnaround.
