About the role
A technician 1 temp control or power position is available in Baltimore, MD. This role involves performing preventive maintenance and repairs on various equipment including power generators, diesel engines, electrical distribution equipment, HVAC equipment, and oil-free air compressors. Troubleshooting and handling repairs both at the shop and on customer sites is part of the responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on power generators, diesel engines, electrical distribution equipment, HVAC equipment, and oil-free air compressors.
- Troubleshoot equipment failures at the shop and on customer locations and handle the repairs.
- Set up and operate equipment on customer sites either alone or with other technicians.
Requirements
- High School diploma/GED.
- 4+ years of experience working on power generators and/or commercial HVAC equipment, performing inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
- Experience with calculating nominal and effective tonnage and/or kW requirements, and reading and understanding schematics.
- Ability to move or lift objects, typically less than 75 lbs.
- Valid driver’s license.
Qualifications
- High School diploma/GED.
- 4+ years of experience working on power generators and/or commercial HVAC equipment, performing inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
- Experience with calculating nominal and effective tonnage and/or kW requirements, and reading and understanding schematics.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to move the extremities and spine through a functional range of motion that will permit work to be safely performed from ground / floor level to full overhead level.
- Good finger dexterity to manipulate small items, functional hand-eye coordination, and functionally grip with adequate strength to safely hold tools and stair railing or ladders.
- Must be able to stand, walk and sit for prolonged periods of time; and be able to walk over uneven terrain with functional balance that does not require any special assistive devices.
- Must be able to move the extremities and spine through a functional range of motion that will permit work to be safely performed from ground / floor level to full overhead level.
- Must be able to safely meet the physical demands outlined in the Essential Physical Capacities Assessment and pass the post-offer physical abilities assessment, which includes being able to lift (60 lbs), push/pull (80 lbs), carry (60 lbs), climb stairs and ladders as well as a combination of climbing while carrying objects (15 lbs), stoop, kneel and squat.
