About the Role
You’ll be based out of our Dallas, TX service center, performing preventive maintenance and repairs of power generators, diesel engines, electrical distribution equipment, HVAC equipment, and/or oil-free air compressors. You will troubleshoot equipment failures at the shop and on customer locations, handling repairs. You may work independently or as part of a team to set up and operate equipment on customer sites.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on power generators, diesel engines, electrical distribution equipment, HVAC equipment, and oil-free air compressors.
- Troubleshoot equipment failures both in-shop and at customer locations.
- Calculate nominal and effective tonnage and/or kW requirements.
- Read and interpret schematics.
- Set up and operate equipment on customer sites, either independently or as part of a team.
- Obtain and maintain required certifications such as a TWIC card or valid DOT medical card based on customer requirements.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED.
- 4+ years of experience working on power generators and/or commercial HVAC equipment, performing inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to move or lift objects, typically less than 75 lbs.
- Availability to work the assigned schedule, travel to work locations (if needed), and be on standby for work outside of regularly scheduled shifts.
Qualifications
- Must be able to stand, walk, and sit for prolonged periods of time.
- Must be able to walk over uneven terrain with functional balance that does not require special assistive devices.
- Must be able to move extremities and spine through a functional range of motion to safely perform work from ground/floor level to full overhead level.
- Good finger dexterity to manipulate small items, functional hand-eye coordination, and adequate grip strength to safely hold tools and stair railings or ladders.
- Must pass the post-offer physical abilities assessment, including the ability to lift (60 lbs), push/pull (80 lbs), carry (60 lbs), climb stairs and ladders, and perform a combination of climbing while carrying objects (15 lbs), stoop, kneel, and squat.
