Technician 1 Power or HVAC

About the Role

You’ll be based out of our Dallas, TX service center, performing preventive maintenance and repairs of power generators, diesel engines, electrical distribution equipment, HVAC equipment, and/or oil-free air compressors. You will troubleshoot equipment failures at the shop and on customer locations, handling repairs. You may work independently or as part of a team to set up and operate equipment on customer sites.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on power generators, diesel engines, electrical distribution equipment, HVAC equipment, and oil-free air compressors.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures both in-shop and at customer locations.
• Calculate nominal and effective tonnage and/or kW requirements.
• Read and interpret schematics.
• Set up and operate equipment on customer sites, either independently or as part of a team.
• Obtain and maintain required certifications such as a TWIC card or valid DOT medical card based on customer requirements.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED.
• 4+ years of experience working on power generators and/or commercial HVAC equipment, performing inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to move or lift objects, typically less than 75 lbs.
• Availability to work the assigned schedule, travel to work locations (if needed), and be on standby for work outside of regularly scheduled shifts.

Qualifications

• Must be able to stand, walk, and sit for prolonged periods of time.
• Must be able to walk over uneven terrain with functional balance that does not require special assistive devices.
• Must be able to move extremities and spine through a functional range of motion to safely perform work from ground/floor level to full overhead level.
• Good finger dexterity to manipulate small items, functional hand-eye coordination, and adequate grip strength to safely hold tools and stair railings or ladders.
• Must pass the post-offer physical abilities assessment, including the ability to lift (60 lbs), push/pull (80 lbs), carry (60 lbs), climb stairs and ladders, and perform a combination of climbing while carrying objects (15 lbs), stoop, kneel, and squat.
