What You’ll Do
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on power generators, electrical distribution equipment, chillers, HVAC systems, and oil-free air compressors
- Troubleshoot equipment failures at the shop and on customer sites, diagnosing and executing repairs
- Set up and operate equipment independently or alongside fellow technicians, both in the shop and on customer sites
- Work overtime and weekends as needed, with potential for travel to support customer operations

Other Essential Job Requirements
- Availability to work the assigned schedule, travel to work locations (if needed) and be on standby for work outside of regularly scheduled shifts
- Must be able to stand, walk and sit for prolonged periods of time; and be able to walk over uneven terrain with functional balance that does not require any special assistive devices
- Must be able to move the extremities and spine through a functional range of motion that will permit work to be safely performed from ground / floor level to full overhead level
- Must have good finger dexterity to manipulate small items, functional hand-eye coordination, and functionally grip with adequate strength to safely hold tools and stair railing or ladders
- Must be able to safely meet the physical demands outlined in the Essential Physical Capacities Assessment and pass the post-offer physical abilities assessment, which includes being able to lift (60 lbs), push/pull (80 lbs), carry (60 lbs), climb stairs and ladders as well as a combination of climbing while carrying objects (15 lbs), stoop, kneel and squat
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 2+ years of hands-on experience on diesel/natural gas generators and/or commercial HVAC equipment, chillers, including inspections, maintenance, and repairs
- Able to calculate nominal and effective tonnage and/or kW requirements, and confident reading and interpreting electrical schematics
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to obtain and maintain a TWIC card or valid DOT medical card based on customer requirements
