Technician 1 - Power

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs of power generators, diesel engines, electrical distribution equipment, HVAC equipment, and oil‑free air compressors.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures at the shop and occasionally on customer locations, then handle the repairs.
• Work overtime and weekends as needed, with potential travel to customer sites.
• Be on standby for work outside regularly scheduled shifts and, when required, work offshore on an on‑call schedule.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED.
• 4+ years of experience working on power generators, performing inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
• Experience calculating nominal and effective kW requirements and reading schematics.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a TWIC card or valid DOT medical card, based on customer requirements.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to move or lift objects typically less than 75 lb (post‑offer physical assessment requires lifting 60 lb, pushing/pulling 80 lb, carrying 60 lb, climbing stairs/ladders while carrying up to 15 lb, and performing stooping, kneeling, squatting).
• Good finger dexterity, hand‑eye coordination, and functional grip for tool use and ladder handling.
• Availability to work the assigned schedule, travel to work locations if needed, and stand, walk, or sit for prolonged periods, including on uneven terrain.
• Willingness to work offshore on an on‑call basis.
