About the role
The F5 Documentation team is spread across time zones from the Western US to India. We support and respect each other, we help each other learn and grow, and we are opinionated about the Oxford comma. We love staying up-to-date with the latest developments in technical writing and docs as code. We have the freedom to try new things, and to fail, and to brush ourselves off and try again.
Responsibilities
- Manage technical documentation projects from design to release ready, working with stakeholders to identify, scope, and prioritize deliverables and release timeframes.
- Leverage cross-functional relationships with key stakeholders to understand business needs, define problems, and ensure document development aligns with business objectives and priorities.
- Collaborate with the Product team to gather requirements and provide input on user interface design, user experience, and documentation integration.
- Partner with Engineering, Product, UX Design, Quality Assurance, Customer Success, etc. to create content to support F5 products.
- Organize and facilitate the content review process.
- Review and edit technical documentation for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to style guidelines, ensuring that content meets quality standards and requirements.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in technical writing principles, methodologies, and tools, advising on best practices and standards.
- Use git to manage source code, as well as to give and receive peer code reviews.
- Participate in team efforts like style guide development, content strategy, & content audits.
Requirements
- BA or BS degree in Technical Communications, Writing, English, or a related area – or – equivalent experience
- At least three years’ technical writing experience
Qualifications
- Experience with Linux systems and the command-line interface
- Experience with container technologies using Docker and Kubernetes
- Understanding of web technologies (e.g., HTTP, REST, JSON)
- Experience with cloud technologies – both public and private – such as AWS, Azure, GCP, and VMware vSphere
Pay
The annual base pay for this position is: $89,600.00 - $134,400.00
