In this role, you will disassemble and reassemble hydraulic products (pumps, valves, etc.), then document the process to create detailed technical manuals. This is a great opportunity for mechanically inclined individuals seeking to transition from hands-on work to more desk-based technical writing.
Responsibilities
- Disassemble and reassemble hydraulic products (pumps, valves, etc.).
- Document each step of the process for the creation of technical manuals.
Requirements
- 3+ years of hands-on mechanical experience (e.g., auto mechanic, military, farming, or similar roles).
- Ability to disassemble and reassemble mechanical and electrical components.
- Mechanically inclined with a strong understanding of automotive, electrical, or hydraulic systems.
- Interest in transitioning to technical writing and desk-based work.
Skills
- Technical writing (training provided).
- Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
- Attention to detail for accurate documentation.

Pay
$25.00 - $28.00/hour. Individual compensation within this range depends on qualifications, skills, experience, job knowledge, geographic location, and internal equity.
Schedule
- 4 days on-site in Waterloo, IA.
- 1 day remote work from home.
