About the role
FEDITC, LLC is a fast-growing business supporting DoD and other intelligence agencies worldwide, developing mission-critical national security systems. This position is for an Engineering Technical Writer located at Red River Army Depot in the Texarkana, TX area. United States Citizenship and an active Secret DoD Security Clearance are required.
Responsibilities
- Prepare instruction manuals, technical manuals, and other supporting documents to communicate complex and technical information within the GSCE program.
- Develop, gather, and disseminate technical information among GSCE programs and partners; work with program leaders and staff to manage the flow of information among project work groups.
- Collect and organize information required for the preparation of military technical publications (print Technical Manuals (TMs) and/or electronic TMs).
- Research source data provided by Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM).
- Develop integrated art and text during publishing to ensure a logical, accurate, and easy-to-read format.
- Support logisticians, provisioners, engineers, and quality control technical personnel throughout the manual development process.
- Provide desktop publishing support in the production of technical manuals, repair parts lists, and other technical publications.
- Research technical source data, nomenclature, and National Stock Numbers (NSNs), including use of WebFLIS.
- Author and publish technical work packages using Arbortext XML and EMS NG Publisher in accordance with applicable military standards and style guides.
- Support the preparation and delivery of required CDRL technical documentation.
Requirements
- United States Citizenship.
- Active Secret DoD Security Clearance.
- Ability to pass a background check.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing military technical manuals or other DoD technical publications.
- Experience with Arbortext XML, desktop publishing, WebFLIS, and military technical publication standards.
- Strong technical writing, research, organization, and communication skills.
