Job Title: Technical Writer Location: Sunnyvale, CA Contract Duration: 12 months Pay Rate Range: $35.00 - $40.00/hr on W2 Work Authorization: Only USC or GC HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL DO Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented Technical Writer to support the development and maintenance of digital manufacturing batch records using the Dozuki platform. This role will partner closely with the cross-functional teams (Operations, Quality, and R&D) to translate complex manufacturing processes into clear, standardized, and user-friendly work instructions that enable safe, compliant, and efficient production. Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, edit, and maintain manufacturing batch records and work instructions within the Dozuki systemTranslate technical processes (e.g., chemical manufacturing, polymer synthesis, purification steps) into clear, step-by-step digital guidesCollaborate with SMEs (manufacturing chemists, process development, and quality teams) to capture accurate process detailsEnsure all documentation aligns with quality standards, and internal documentation practicesStandardize formatting, terminology, and structure across batch records for consistency and usabilityIncorporate visuals (images, diagrams, tables) to enhance clarity and reduce operator errorSupport version control, change management, and document updates as processes evolveParticipate in process walkthroughs and shop floor observations to ensure documentation reflects actual practicesIdentify gaps, ambiguities, or risks in procedures and proactively recommend improvementsAssist in building templates and best practices for scalable documentation across manufacturing workflows Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in a technical field (Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Life Sciences) or equivalent experience2+ years of technical writing experience in a manufacturing, biotech, or regulated environmentExperience writing SOPs, batch records, or work instructionsStrong attention to detail and ability to simplify complex technical informationExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities Preferred QualificationsExperience with Dozuki or similar digital work instruction platformsFamiliarity with ISO9001 or regulated manufacturing environmentsExposure to chemical or polymer manufacturing processesExperience incorporating visuals and instructional design best practicesContinuous improvement mindset (PPI, Lean, or Six Sigma experience a plus)BENEFITS: We offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support the health, well-being, and financial security of our employees and their families.
