Technical Writer

About the role

The Technical Writer II supports the Defense Nuclear Facilities Safety Board (DNFSB) with technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop a Project Management Plan (PMP) for all approved Engineering Support tasks.
• Provide documentation commensurate with the level of effort required for the tasking.
• Define Requirements & Design Alternatives as components of the lifecycle approach, develop a Requirements Definition and Design Alternatives Document.
• Implement the accepted solution after its approval through change management processes and direct interfacing with the Government.
• Perform various types of tests during the implementation of an engineering solution, including unit and system testing.
• Develop and present an acceptance test plan, Test Procedures, and a Test Report to ensure all systems requirements are identified, tested, and passed.
• Develop and provide resources for deploying and training on the engineered solution, including section training and associated materials.
• Seek approval through change management processes not limited to Change Control Boards (CCB).

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree with 3 years of experience.
• Direct experience of applicable military standards, specifications, and test practices.
• Demonstrate the ability to conceptualize, format, structure, write, edit, and finalize technical manuals, orders, specifications, modification work orders, and test plans, procedures, and results.

Qualifications

Secret Clearance.
