Technical Writer

We are seeking a Technical Writer to support the development, revision, and maintenance of clear, accurate, and user-focused technical documentation. The ideal candidate will have strong technical writing and editing skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work closely with engineering and cross-functional teams to translate complex technical information into easy-to-understand documentation. Location: Orlando, FL Pay Range : $23- $25/hr Duration: 3+ month contract Schedule: Monday–Friday Work Arrangement: Onsite Key Responsibilities Create, edit, and maintain technical manuals, work instructions, procedures, guides, and other technical documentation. Gather and interpret technical information from engineers, subject matter experts, drawings, specifications, and other source materials. Translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and well-structured documentation. Review existing documentation and update content based on product, process, or engineering changes. Collaborate with engineering, quality, operations, and other cross-functional teams to collect and validate technical information. Ensure documentation is accurate, consistent, and aligned with applicable documentation standards. Perform detailed proofreading, editing, and quality checks of technical content. Organize and maintain documentation using appropriate authoring and document management tools. Support document revisions, formatting, publishing, and version control activities. Identify opportunities to improve documentation processes, consistency, and usability. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, English, Communications, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience. 2+ years of experience in technical writing, documentation, or a related field. Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and communication skills. Ability to understand and document technical information. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively with engineers, SMEs, and cross-functional teams. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word and PowerPoint. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a medical device, healthcare, manufacturing, engineering, aerospace, or other regulated environment. Experience with structured authoring or XML-based documentation. Experience with tools such as Arbortext, Adobe FrameMaker, Confluence, Jira, or similar documentation platforms. Familiarity with engineering drawings, schematics, CAD models, or technical specifications. Experience working with SOPs, work instructions, installation/maintenance manuals, or other controlled documentation. Knowledge of quality systems, document control, or regulated documentation processes.
