Technical Writer

About the role

The Technical Writer supports PHCoE clinical, research, and operational activities for the Defense Health Agency in Silver Springs, MD. They develop clear, accurate, and user-focused documentation, translate complex scientific and technical information, and ensure compliance with DoD formatting and publication requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop clinical support tools and operational documentation.
• Draft standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Prepare technical reports and project documentation.
• Support development of implementation plans and user guides.
• Translate scientific findings into actionable products.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Technical Communications, Health Communications, or related field.
• Experience supporting healthcare, public health, or government programs.
• Strong editing and document management skills.
• Public Trust clearance required; US citizenship is mandatory for contract.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of DoD formatting and publication requirements.
• Ability to translate complex scientific and technical information into practical tools and guidance.

Skills

• Excellent writing and editing skills.
• Strong organizational and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
