Technical Writer

In this role you will disassemble and reassemble hydraulic products (pumps, valves, etc.), then document the process to create technical manuals. This is a great opportunity for mechanically inclined individuals looking to transition from hands-on work to more desk-based technical writing.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble hydraulic, pump, and related mechanical products
• Reassemble products to verify functionality
• Document each step of the process for manual creation
• Create clear, accurate technical documentation and manuals

Requirements

• 3+ years of hands-on mechanical experience (automotive, military, farming, or similar)
• Ability to disassemble and reassemble complex mechanical products
• Electrical and mechanical experience
• Mechanically inclined with strong problem-solving skills

Skills

• Technical writing (training provided)
• Mechanical assembly/disassembly
• Hydraulic systems knowledge (preferred but not required)
• Attention to detail for documentation accuracy

Schedule

• 4 days on-site in Waterloo, IA
• 1 day remote work from home

Pay

$25.00 - $28.00/hour. Individual compensation within this range depends on qualifications, skills, experience, job knowledge, geographic location, and internal equity.
