About the role
Coordinate and assist in the training of offshore personnel. Some international and offshore travel may be required.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the competence training framework, policies, and procedures to support high-performing service teams, including generic service technical and behavioral competencies, identifying skill gaps, and ensuring the framework remains relevant.
- Interface regularly with technical authorities, such as the Engineering team, to develop in-house training.
- Collaborate with HR to ensure training is booked and orders are placed with external training companies to support the service competence framework.
- Coordinate and execute in-house training, ensuring materials, tooling, equipment, and training resources are available when required.
- Monitor, review, and manage the effectiveness of the service training and competence framework through established KPIs.
- Interface with Operations Manager, Sales, and HR to inform and shape the service training and competence strategy.
- Develop efficient processes balancing time, worker needs, technology, and methods to achieve error-free, safe, and cost-effective operations.
- Analyze the effectiveness of learning and development interventions for benefit realization.
- Support the design of behavioral competency, technical, and other frameworks, and assist in designing internally run workshops.
- Liaise with the Training Coordinator in the UK to ensure the learning and development database is accurate and provide reports as required.
- Evaluate and train Technicians in both shop and offshore environments to develop required competencies.
- Maintain a professional bearing and actively promote JDR products and services to customers.
Requirements
- Technical Qualification or time-served in a Mechanical and/or Electrical field.
- Mechanical assembly of all termination parts with an understanding of limits and fits.
- Employ relevant thread lock, sealant, or anti-galling compounds as necessary.
- Termination of electrical connectors, cable joints, and electrical junction boxes.
- Proof testing of electrical umbilicals and associated terminations.
- Swaging of hydraulic and pneumatic hoses, integration into stab plates, winches, etc., and proof testing and flushing as required.
- Interpret and understand both JDR and customer-supplied drawings.
- Strong time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage both personal workload and the time of others.
- Clear communication skills, including the ability to understand written information, convey ideas accurately in writing, and communicate confidently in verbal discussions.
- Proactive problem-solving approach to identify causes of operational issues, assess available information, and implement effective solutions.
- Valid driving license.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of JDR’s services and products, particularly IWOCS (preferred but not essential).
- Knowledge of cables and umbilical equipment (preferred but not essential).
