The Technical Training Instructor (START) role is part of a Training team supporting and influencing the Tesla culture and development of Maintenance Technicians at Gigafactory Nevada through a 14-week onboarding & training program. The instructor will be relied upon to be a resource for both internal and external employees, investing time in supporting both classroom and hands-on training.

The instructor will embody the Tesla culture and the individualistic approach to up-skilling Maintenance Technicians and training diverse groups of talented individuals.
Responsibilities
- In-depth knowledge of technical disciplines (Pneumatic, Electronic, Robotic, Mechanical, Controls, etc.)
- Develop high quality, engaging technical content and lab exercises on a wide variety of applications (Basic and Advanced)
- Facilitate internal START apprenticeship program including classroom and hands-on training to manage and maintain Maintenance Technician skill building with emphasis on safety, quality, and productivity within Gigafactory Nevada
- Foster partnership and collaboration with educational program partners, coordinators, and external educators
- Understand and relay knowledge of updated processes and documentation to maintain content for effective training along with the ability to design and deliver high quality learner evaluations, including written and hands-on assessments
- Provide comprehensive schedule management and tracking of learner’s completed and required training in the LMS, as required to support student learning outcomes, and assess behavior/performance
- Learn new process skills, keep up to date with the latest revisions of process operations, and assist with curriculum review, revision, and creation
- Aid in the development of new course material and innovative instructional techniques that promote student learning and retention of students to completion
Requirements
- Associate’s Degree in Advanced Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or closely related field from an accredited institution, or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of technical experience with 2+ years of training or adult teaching (preferred)
- Experience with learning management systems and/or online learning in high volume, fast-paced settings
- Understanding of manufacturing process and methodology and working experience in a manufacturing operations environment
- Proficient in MS Office software (Word, Excel, Power Point)
- Demonstrates personal leadership and accountability
- Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies
- Understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design, or education along with strong verbal and written communication skills, including excellent interpersonal skills
