About the role
The Technical Systems Editor & Writer Level 4 will assist with writing and supplying inputs to engineering and technical documents such as technical procedure manuals, user manuals, programming manuals, service manuals, operational specifications, and related technical publications supporting launcher and propulsion programs.
Responsibilities
- Assist with writing and supplying inputs to engineering and technical documents such as technical procedure manuals, user manuals, programming manuals, service manuals, operational specifications, and related technical publications supporting launcher and propulsion programs
- Participate/Lead and coordinate preparation, conduct and closeout for internal and external customer reviews and meetings
- Develop subject knowledge by interviewing product developers, observing performance of production methods, referring to technical specifications, blueprints, engineering illustrations, wiring charts, schematics and trade journals
- Lead preparation of illustrative materials, selecting drawings, sketches, diagrams and charts
- Conduct quality review of materials
- Develop new concepts, techniques, and standards
- Communicate clearly and effectively technical specifications and instructions to a wide range of audiences as well as present technical approaches and findings
- Support documentation input implementation to a team of technical writers and text processors
- Support verification and proofing events to produce quality documentation
Requirements
- The ability to multi-task and balance multiple projects simultaneously
- Demonstrate strategic thinking along with sound decision making and good judgments
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written
- Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment
Qualifications
- For Level 4: Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) discipline with 8 years relevant work experience; or Master’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) discipline with 6 years relevant work experience
- Familiarity with system drawings and engineering/technical products such as technical procedure manuals, operational specifications, user manuals, program manuals, etc.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings in the development of documentation
- To meet deadlines and quality standards
- Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Active Secret Security Clearance
Pay
Primary Level Salary Range: $135,800.00 - $203,600.00
