Technical Support - test / repair / configure ULTRASOUND machines (Onsite in Shelton, Connecticut)

About the role

This position is responsible for providing first-tier technical support, testing, repairing, and configuring ultrasound machines. Technical support will primarily be delivered via telephone to personnel across the organization who utilize our ultrasound products. This is an entry-level technical support position within the company.

Responsibilities

• Provides tier one-level technical support to personnel as needed, with significant help from higher-level national technical support specialists.
• Prepares and disseminates information related to ultrasound products to personnel to improve their ability to perform tasks related to the products, with significant help from higher-level national technical support specialists.
• Occasionally helps roll out new ultrasound products by participating in installations as needed.
• Occasionally assists support services personnel in performing quality-related functions.
• Maintains excellent working relationships with personnel in all departments.
• Works overtime and odd hours as needed, including at the “last minute”.
• Occasionally travels to customer sites to solve problems as needed.
• Provides factory service as directed.
• Tests and repairs u/s machine components as directed.
• Aids in configuring new u/s machines as directed.
• Adheres to and ensures compliance with all safety practices and quality procedures.
• Promotes both internally to the company and externally, the image and reputation of the organization.
• Provides backup assistance to our call dispatch function as directed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Experience in repairing, maintaining, and/or troubleshooting medical equipment (or other relevant equipment), or service and operations experience within our organization demonstrating proficiency in ultrasound, is preferred.
• Capable of operating all test equipment required to service Ultrasound equipment.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college—preferably in an electronics- related discipline or equivalent experience is preferred.
• Must have strong computer (computer network) skills.

• Standing/Walking: Frequent, prolonged/repetitively.
• Sitting: Frequent, prolonged/repetitively.
• Lifting/Carrying: Infrequent, periodic/prolonged with light hand tools, a tool bag, cabinet covers weighing from 1-20 lbs., diagnostic test equipment weighing from 5-30 lbs., and replacement components which may weigh from 1-30 lbs.
• Pushing/Pulling: Periodic.
• Pushing distances are typically 24 inches to several yards.
• Bending: Occasional, period/prolonged in the lower back.
• Reaching: Rarely above the shoulders.
• Below shoulder level with a variety of tasks.
• Kneeling/Crawling/Crouching: Occasional, period/prolonged.
• Primarily while accessing the lower panels of the ultrasound systems.
• Balancing: Rarely, periodic in the lower back.
• Twisting: Rarely, periodic.

Travel

Up to 70% travel may be required based on business need (domestic and international).
