Technical Support Specialist III / Immunohematalogy Trainer
About the role
Each day of training is spent between our dedicated classroom and training laboratory, describing methodologies used by our platform, showing use of the platform, related reagents and consumables and working with software. Prior to actual training sessions of 3 to 5 days, the TSS will spend a day setting up the area for the class by ensuring instrument function and prepping exercises. When not performing training or other training related activities, you will be interacting with our customers, answering phone calls or emails, providing expert advice and troubleshooting directions to the caller to resolve their issue. All contact is documented following internal and USFDA guidelines. Complex issues may require you to dispatch a field Service engineer or escalate to our Product Support Team for additional advice and investigation.
Responsibilities
- Ensure our instrument and software end users are appropriately trained.
- Provide expert advice to internal colleagues regarding our automation, reagents and processes.
- Ensure our training materials for internal and external customers meet the needs of the trainee and accomplish the goals of the training.
- Provide expert advice and troubleshooting directions to customers for resolving issues they report to our Technical Support Team.
- Provide support to the Technical Support Manager for product, process and staff topics.
Requirements
Education: BSMT(ASCP) or equivalent, Specialist in Blood Bank (SBB) preferred.
Work Experience: Minimum 5 years in a transfusion laboratory environment. Experience with IH automation including gel platforms. Experience with Bio-Rad Immunohematology automation and reagents preferred.
Availability for after hours (8 PM-6 AM EST) On Call, approximately one week every 6 weeks.
This position must be based in Parsippany, NJ and requires the employee to be located within commuting distance of the office.
Qualifications
Availability to travel to customer sites/ Bio-Rad Training Centers if required.

Pay
The estimated base salary range for this position is $96,600 to $132,900 at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors.
Schedule
This position is eligible for a variable annual bonus, which is dependent upon achievement of your individual objectives and Company performance.
