Technical Supervisor (Blood Bank)

Role: Supervises laboratory operations, focusing on workflow management, process improvement, and staff leadership in a high-complexity clinical lab environment. Responsibilities: Hire, train, evaluate, and supervise laboratory staff, including managing promotions, transfers, and disciplinary actions.Lead workflow organization, using Six Sigma and Lean methodologies to enhance efficiency and quality.Manage labor and resources within budget, reduce waste, and contribute to departmental budgeting.Ensure compliance with accreditation standards (CAP, CMS, AABB, FDA, CLIA) and OSHA regulations.Participate in or lead initiatives to improve service quality, compliance, and operational efficiency.Facilitate effective communication within the organization and with external partners. Qualifications & Skills: Bachelor’s degree in laboratory science, medical technology, or related field.At least four years of experience in high-complexity testing, with preferred supervisory experience.Certification (MLS or specialty) is preferred.Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with knowledge of quality improvement methodologies.
