Technical Specialist- Pulmonary

About the role

The Technical Specialist coordinates technology needs for the department, participates in IT planning (including purchasing, testing, and implementation), and serves as a liaison with internal and external IT teams. The role advances technology use within the department to enhance patient care and may support staff education and special projects.

Responsibilities

• Configure department IT systems, including workstations and applications
• Participate in department systems planning and development
• Oversee hardware and software systems support and upgrades
• Monitor and support anticipated future technological needs
• Participate in staff, student, and volunteer education on related protocols and standards
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Technical training; bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline preferred
• Microsoft Windows certification preferred
• 2+ years of experience in technical support or programming/systems experience in end-user computing applications, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience in end-user computing applications and network-based PC/workstation systems, or relevant applicable experience
