Technical Specialist - Civil
Role Location: North Little Rock, AR, or Phoenix, AZ, office preferred. Open to remote for candidates further than 40 miles from either office. An on-site interview at either our North Little Rock, AR, or our Phoenix, AZ, office location is a required step in the hiring process.

Employment is full-time/salary, approximately 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, and may include some travel outside normal business hours.
Responsibilities
- Civil & Digital Delivery Planning
- Develop and support digital delivery and model‑based design strategies for civil and infrastructure projects
- Collaborate with project teams to establish civil design standards, templates, and best practices
- Support implementation of client‑specific workflows for land development, transportation, and water projects
- Training and Education
- Deliver engaging training sessions focused on civil design tools, workflows, and best practices
- Provide coaching and mentorship to client teams, from early adoption through advanced use
- Stay current on evolving civil technology trends and share insights with internal and client teams
- Collaboration and Coordination
- Facilitate coordination between civil engineers, surveyors, GIS specialists, and other stakeholders
- Support interdisciplinary collaboration across transportation, site, water, and structural teams
- Assist with model coordination, data sharing, and issue resolution
- Modeling, Analysis, and Documentation
- Develop and review high‑quality civil design models and datasets
- Support production of construction documentation derived from civil design models
- Apply working knowledge of water resources, drainage, and utility systems
- Leverage structural analysis principles to support integrated civil‑structural coordination
- Data, GIS, and Visualization
- Support workflows involving GIS data integration, analysis, and visualization
- Help teams connect GIS, survey, and civil design data for informed design decisions
- Promote effective use of civil data throughout the project lifecycle
- Quality Assurance
- Perform audits of civil models and deliverables for accuracy, completeness, and standards compliance
- Establish and reinforce quality control processes for civil design and documentation
- Apply a detail‑oriented mindset to ensure reliable and constructible outputs
- Civil Software Expertise
- Advanced knowledge of Autodesk Civil 3D / Infodrainage and related civil design tools
- Familiarity with water, transportation, and land development workflows
- Ability to evaluate, adopt, and support new civil technologies and workflows
- Client Interaction
- Communicate technical concepts in a clear, approachable way for diverse audiences
- Partner with clients to understand and solve real‑world civil design challenges
- Act as a trusted technical resource throughout the client engagement
Requirements
- Civil Design Experience: 5–10 years of experience supporting or working within civil engineering design environments
- AEC Industry Experience: Background in civil infrastructure, land development, transportation, water resources, or related fields
- Project Experience: Demonstrated success supporting civil projects of varying scale and complexity
Skills
- Civil Design Software: Expertise in Autodesk Civil 3D; familiarity with civil analysis and visualization tools
- Water & Infrastructure Knowledge: Understanding of drainage, utilities, and water systems
- GIS Knowledge: Experience working with GIS data and its integration into civil workflows
- Structural Awareness: Working knowledge of structural analysis concepts as they relate to civil projects
- Documentation: Proficiency creating high‑quality construction documents
- Collaboration: Strong ability to work across technical disciplines
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Problem‑Solving: Analytical mindset with the ability to troubleshoot complex workflows
- Quality Focus: Strong commitment to accuracy, standards, and continuous improvement
Knowledge
- Understanding of civil engineering standards, guidelines, and best practices
- Awareness of regulatory requirements impacting civil and infrastructure projects
- Familiarity with digital delivery and data‑driven design approaches within the AEC industry
Additional Requirements
- Proven client‑facing experience and the ability to build trusted relationships
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in civil technology
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods, travel between office locations (including those with stairs), and lift up to 30 pounds
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills, along with adequate visual and auditory abilities (with or without aids)
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship
