TECHNICAL SPECIALIST

About the role

Fabricate, assemble, repair, and maintain custom-made prosthetic and orthotic devices. Participate in research and development of systems, processes, and devices to improve the fit, function, and longevity of prosthetic and orthotic devices. Dispense prescribed off-the-shelf orthopedic devices, assist practitioners with patient care needs, and provide education on use and care of orthopedic devices.

Responsibilities

• Use of resins, thermoplastics, sheet materials, and adhesives
• Fabricate, assemble, repair, and maintain custom prosthetic and orthotic devices
• Participate in research and development to improve device fit, function, and longevity
• Dispense prescribed off-the-shelf orthopedic devices
• Assist practitioners with patient care needs
• Provide education on use and care of orthopedic devices

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Good hand skills and experience working with machinery and various hand tools
• Ability to work well with others and be a team player
• Maintain a clean workspace
• Ability to lift 50 lbs
