About the role
EAE USA is looking for an experienced technical solution engineer to support customers, system integrators, contractors, and field teams on electrical and data center projects. This role helps connect customer needs with internal teams to ensure projects move smoothly from design revision through installation and commissioning. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys solving technical problems, working directly with electrical and general contractors and site engineers, and is willing to travel 50-70% of the time.
Responsibilities
- Build strong relationships with customers, system integrators, contractors, consultants, and end users.
- Visit customer offices and project sites to review requirements, answer technical questions, and support installation readiness.
- Act as a key technical contact during project execution, commissioning, troubleshooting, and field validation.
- Prepare clear site visit notes, technical summaries, and corrective action recommendations.
- Review drawings, single-line diagrams, layout, specifications, and equipment selections.
- Provide application guidance for electrical distribution, switchgear, busbar systems, UPS interfaces, and power monitoring solutions.
- Help resolve technical issues during design, procurement, installation, commissioning, and post-installation support.
- Identify recurring field challenges and recommend improvements to products, documentation, or processes.
- Collaborate with internal engineering teams, project execution, and application engineers.
- Share customer feedback, field challenges, lessons learned, and improvement opportunities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, construction, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in application engineering, field service engineering, data center technical support, or a similar customer-facing technical role.
- Ability to travel approximately 50% throughout North America.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, presentation, and customer relationship skills.
- Ability to read electrical drawings, schematics, single-line diagrams, specifications, and installation documents.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel independently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with data center infrastructure, mission-critical facilities, or electrical distribution projects.
- Knowledge of low-voltage distribution, busbar systems, switchgear, or power monitoring systems.
- Experience supporting system integrators, EPCs, contractors, consultants, or large enterprise customers.
- Commissioning, startup, troubleshooting, or field validation experience.
- Experience using CRM, project management, technical reporting, Revit, SAP, or CAD tools.
