Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive technical support to customers by addressing product-related inquiries, resolving complaints, and delivering effective solutions.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute product trials to validate material performance and application suitability.
  • Lead technical discussions with customers and internal stakeholders, offering expert guidance on material selection and application development.
  • Recommend appropriate material grades based on performance requirements, processing conditions, and end-use applications.
  • Troubleshoot processing and product performance issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities at customer by proposing better solutions using Trinseo materials.
  • Capture, document, and share technical learnings and best practices to support continuous improvement and knowledge development.
  • Coordinate material testing and validation activities through internal and external laboratories to ensure compliance with customer and industry requirements.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for quality, processing, and performance-related issues, and drive resolution through data-based recommendations.
  • Perform competitive benchmarking and alternative material evaluations to support product positioning, cost optimization, and customer requirements.
  • Analyze test results and prepare detailed technical reports to support decision-making and customer communication.
  • Support new product development, localization, and cost optimization projects in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Work closely with the commercial team to identify and update new application developments and business opportunities.
  • Maintain and manage technical databases, including material specifications, performance data, and OEM-approved grade listings.
  • Cook compliance-related activities, certifications, and regulatory documentation to meet customer and industry standards.
  • Manage IMDS submissions and customer compliance requirements in collaboration with internal departments and external stakeholders.
  • Facilitate effective communication between customers, sales, R&D, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure successful project execution and timely delivery of technical solutions.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree (B.Tech./B.E.) in Polymer Science, Polymer Engineering, Plastics Engineering or CIPET.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant industry experience in a customer-facing technical role within the polymers, plastics, or specialty materials industry.
  • Knowledge: Demonstrated expertise in polymer processing, application development, and troubleshooting of processing and product performance issues. Strong knowledge of engineering thermoplastics and elastomers, with hands-on experience in materials such as PC/ABS, ABS, PMMA, TPEs, and TPUs. Solid understanding of polymer chemistry, material characterization techniques, structure–property relationships, polymer physics, and polymer processing technologies.
  • Skills: Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision while effectively managing multiple priorities. Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to translate customer requirements into practical technical solutions. High level of technical aptitude and a passion for innovation and continuous learning. Proven ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional and multicultural teams. Strong business acumen with the ability to balance technical requirements and commercial objectives. Effective stakeholder management, influencing, and leadership skills. Customer-focused mindset with a proactive approach to identifying opportunities and driving successful outcomes. Proficiency in technical reporting, data analysis, and presentation of findings to both technical and non-technical persons.
  • Preferred Industry Experience: Automotive, plastics, polymer compounding, engineering thermoplastics, specialty materials, or related manufacturing industries. Experience with OEM approval processes, material validation, compliance requirements, and customer qualification programs would be an advantage.
