About The Job

JPI has an exciting opportunity for a Technical Senior Specialist to join our Operations Support Center team. The Technical Senior Specialist will assist in proactively assessing future risks of each project to the Operations team and communicating those with the OSC Team.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Review and finalize plans and maintain active day-to-day involvement with OSC Team
  • Trach and Ensure trade specific PreCon onsite meeting agendas to the Site Construction Managers to ensure Plan adherence
  • Track and resolve construction issues from field “tickets” in timely and complete manner
  • Ensure the de-risking process is complete with all necessary RFI’s/ASI’s resolved in timely manner
  • Maintain 30 days of clear runway without RFI delays
  • Monitor dashboard daily for trends impacting the Plan, diagnose the root cause and direct OSC resource support and realignment on subcontractor performance both on completion and corrective items
  • Communicate OSC support of wet weather mitigation pre-planning efforts and implementation
  • Utilize digital technology by reviewing technology information captures as directed to solve technical issues affecting the project
  • Tracks and Ensures the Day 1 Startup checklist is completed on NTP day
  • Create and manage a project specific submittal log
  • Review and compare submittals, samples and shop drawings to specifications, clarifications and drawings
  • Upload and Track submittals, samples and shop drawings to Procore
  • Ensure submittals are reviewed within the contracted consultant response time
  • Assign appropriate consultants to each submittal
  • Review responses to submittals and ensure trade partner is aware of any comments
  • Accountable for Managing RFI Process
  • Maintain RFI urgency log daily and ensure consultants are working on correct RFI priorities
  • Work Directly with Operations team to draft and submit RFI's
  • Manage that RFI's are answered promptly and by correct consultants
  • Ensure RFI's are distributed to appropriate subs
  • Inform the Commercial Lead of RFI's with potential costs attached
  • Accountable for Complete AHJ precon
  • Ensure that the project turnover phasing and sequence will be approved by the jurisdiction and make any plan resequencing as necessary to accommodate AHJ requirements
  • Ensure the Fire inspector startup requirements are aligned with phasing and OPC plan
  • Ensure 3rd party consultants are contracted with appropriate inspection type and frequency per the plan minimum or minimum JPI standard whichever is greater
  • Usher AHJ through 3rd party inspection adoption (BV or similar)
  • Ensure that Submittals are reviewed and approved for installation per plan
  • Support CO review process
  • Carefully coordinate with the Site Construction Manager to verify change order work is valid
  • Manage change order disputes

Expectations

  • Act as a representative and advocate of JPI’s culture and guiding principles
  • 5 day (Monday-Friday) Physical Co-location
  • Daily Collaboration
  • Thorough knowledge of daily on-site activities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • 3-5 years' experience in a business or professional setting (inclusive of non-profit or government roles)
  • Proven experience in an executive support role or similar position
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
  • Proficiency in using business software and tools, including MS Office and project management applications
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
