About the role
This position is a technical sales role targeting the North American market for a Japanese manufacturer. You will collaborate with the Japanese headquarters while handling sales activities and technical proposals for both Japanese and American customers.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain relationships with customers
- Understand customer needs and provide technical proposals and support
- Prepare quotations, negotiate pricing, and handle order processing
- Coordinate with the Japanese headquarters and related departments
- Develop new customers and conduct market research
- Visit customers, including business trips
- Report sales activities to the Japanese headquarters
Requirements
- Fluent Japanese language skills
- Engineering experience in manufacturing industries, including machinery, components, or automotive sectors
- Customer service and communication skills
- Willingness to travel
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in technical sales for manufacturing industries
- English communication skills
Location & Schedule
Northwest Detroit Metro Area, MI. This is an in-office role requiring 5 days per week on-site. No hybrid work is available. Frequent weekly business travel is expected.
Pay & Benefits
- Base salary: $70K – $90K (DOE) + performance-based bonus (company and individual)
