Technical Sales Representative
About the role
As a Technical Sales Representative you will be responsible for growing revenue by identifying customer needs, presenting solutions, and closing sales under direction of Senior Manager. This role requires strong communication skills, persistence, and the ability to build lasting client relationships. This job requires frequent travel for customer visits, attending industry events, conducting demonstrations, and performing service.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new sales opportunities through prospecting, networking, and outreach
- Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing customers
- Present products and services and explain their value to potential clients
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and pipeline activity
- Handle customer questions, objections, and concerns professionally
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitors, and market conditions
- Generate leads with cold calling and other marketing activities
- Follow up on warm leads to support ongoing sales efforts
- Organize trade show materials
- Attend and support trade shows, conferences, and customer demos
- Confirm machine leases and sell contract sorting services
- Coordinate sample testing and product evaluation for potential customers
Skills & Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field desirable
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Ability to communicate professionally with customers and internal teams
- Understanding of basic sales processes and customer follow-up
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Knowledge of optical sorting machines or similar technology is a plus
- Experience in industrial equipment, food processing, agriculture, recycling, or related industries is preferred
- Willingness to travel frequently (Minimum 50% required)
- Bilingual preferred
