Responsibilities
- Manage time effectively to ensure all potential customers and buying accounts are contacted with appropriate efficiency.
- Achieve high sales efficiencies by identifying and exploiting profitable sales opportunities.
- Optimize sales results by prioritizing and selling high-profitability products while disengaging from low-value sales and services.
- Maintain a high level of responsiveness and follow-up to customer needs.
- Develop and maintain in-depth product knowledge to act as a problem solver for customers, increasing value to the customer.
- Establish and sustain relationships with all personnel at key accounts to ensure continuity.
- Provide written reports of sales call highlights, emphasizing new or lost business, pricing changes, usage rates, and competitive strategies.
- Collaborate with the Vice President of Sales to develop and implement sales strategies and profitably increase sales volume.
- Focus on target accounts for suppliers and schedule joint sales calls to introduce new products and discuss existing ones.
- Monitor sales leads from various sources, including trade publications, referrals, and associates.
- Recommend pricing levels, manage pricing logs for non-standard pricing, and submit proposals for approval.
- Manage administrative functions to comply with company practices, policies, and procedures.
- Support company goals to improve customer satisfaction, reduce rework, and enhance profitability.
- Develop and sustain effective relationships with associates within the company.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (chemistry, chemical engineering preferred) from an accredited four-year college/university.
- Five or more years of field sales experience.
- Industry experience in Coatings, Adhesives, and Sealants for the Building & Construction industries is highly preferred.
- Experience in cementitious/gypsum dry-mix mortars is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to work as a team member.
- High moral and business ethics orientation.
