Technical Sales & Design Engineer
About the role
The Technical Sales & Design Engineer serves as a key technical resource supporting WITRON's Business Development and Engineering teams throughout the sales and solution design process. This role combines engineering expertise, analytical problem-solving, customer engagement, and technical sales support to develop innovative automated warehouse and intralogistics solutions tailored to customer requirements. Working closely with internal engineering teams, project stakeholders, international design, customers, and strategic partners, the Technical Sales & Design Engineer will evaluate operational requirements, analyze data, develop conceptual system designs, and communicate technical solutions that deliver measurable business value. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain exposure to cutting-edge automation technologies while helping customers improve productivity, efficiency, throughput, accuracy, and long-term operational performance.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical liaison between customers and WITRON's engineering and design teams.
- Gather customer requirements, operational data, and facility information to support solution development.
- Analyze data and collaborate with engineering teams to design automated warehouse and material handling solutions.
- Assist with system layouts, technical proposals, presentations, and solution documentation.
- Present concepts and recommendations to customers and support technical sales activities.
- Coordinate project handoff to project management and implementation teams.
- Work cross-functionally with business development, engineering, and operations teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related technical field.
- 1+ years of experience in a customer-facing technical, engineering, automation, logistics, or manufacturing role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to travel up to 50% throughout the U.S., Canada, and Europe.
- Flexibility to support collaboration across international time zones.
Qualifications
- Understanding of warehouse operations, material handling, and automation technologies.
- Ability to analyze operational data and develop practical engineering solutions.
- Strong communication, presentation, and customer relationship skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access).
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Skills
- Experience with warehouse automation, material handling systems, robotics, or industrial automation (preferred).
- Exposure to technical sales, system design, or supply chain operations (preferred).
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit (preferred).
- German language skills are a plus but not required.
Pay
Salary Range: $65,000 - $90,000

Schedule & Travel
- Initial training includes periods of travel to WITRON Headquarters in Parkstein, Germany.
