Seeking a driven and motivated engineer to join our sales team, focusing on growing business with existing customers and developing new business. This position involves applications engineering, sales support, and field service work in a result-driven, fast-paced environment. Extensive formalized training and mentorship will develop your skills in CaptiveAire products, application engineering processes, and business development strategies.

A Day in the Life

  • Outside sales meetings and calls to build relationships with existing and new customers
  • Application engineering using sound engineering principles
  • Project management of installations, ensuring equipment delivery aligns with site schedules
  • Service and technical support for existing equipment, including on-site troubleshooting and remote assistance
  • Two to three days per week in the office working on bids, one to two days on job sites, and one day dedicated to territory development (e.g., presentations, customer visits, account expansion)

Sales Engineers share that the role involves daily problem-solving for engineers, contractors, and end users, using a mix of technical, interpersonal, and business skills. The focus is on providing solutions—ventilation, heating, and air conditioning—rather than just selling products. The balance of design work, customer interaction, and project completion is highly rewarding.

Responsibilities

  • Provide integrated application engineering and design support for ventilation applications, delivering sustainable products and the latest technologies tailored to customer needs
  • Work directly with engineers, contractors, end users, and food service dealers on inside sales support, application engineering, and outside sales
  • Handle presentations, quotes, submittals, technical product support, job site visits, and hands-on troubleshooting
  • Educate and promote CaptiveAire products through conference calls, meetings, presentations, and product demos
  • Research and develop new business opportunities with new and existing users
  • Deliver top-notch customer service, prioritizing quick turnaround times and going above and beyond for customers
  • Continuously evaluate and improve processes and the customer experience

Requirements

  • 0-5 years of experience
  • 4-year technical degree in mechanical, electrical, construction, or a science-oriented curriculum (preferred)
  • Excellent computer, organizational, and communication/presentation skills
  • Problem-solving mindset with a passion for continuous learning
  • Strong desire to interface with customers
  • Embrace of new technologies and business savvy
  • Passion for work with an aggressive drive to succeed
  • Willingness to travel for training opportunities
  • For engineering graduates: expectation to complete the FE Exam within 6 months of employment
  • Must be a "go-getter"

Pay

$70k–$100k base salary, negotiable based on experience, with additional monthly bonuses tied to productivity and profits.
