About the role

The Sales Account Manager position at Ketjen Corporation is based out of the Clear Lake Office in Houston, Texas. This role involves interfacing with key stakeholders within customer accounts to develop and execute sales strategies, while also building and maintaining professional relationships to support ongoing business growth.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership as Ketjen's interface with the customer, performing and managing commercial activities to serve customer needs and develop credibility for Ketjen.
  • Guide internal teams to meet customer's technical and commercial requests and provide feedback on the cost-benefit of supporting key accounts.
  • Build and maintain relationships with leadership and decision-makers within accounts, representing Ketjen in multiple engagements and meetings as needed.
  • Manage relationship by drawing in Ketjen Leadership Team as necessary, prepare and execute account plans, and track and maintain accurate forecasting of customer usage rates.
  • Provide market intelligence and industry trends for strategic purposes, meet/exceed annual and quarterly targets, and successfully negotiate and secure long-term supply agreements.
  • Document and update all customer interfaces and contact points in the CRM system, support improvement of industry perception of Ketjen's technical strength and value propositions, and document factual and timely internal reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering discipline preferred.
  • Minimum 5+ years in the refining industry, preferably with experience in Hydroprocessing and/or FCC Unit operation.
  • At least 3+ years in a Sales-related role.
  • Strong communication skills to present and explain commercial and technical offers to customers.
  • Negotiations skills and experience.
  • Ability to build connections, credibility, and exert influence internally and externally.
  • Perseverance, persuasiveness, and confidence.
  • Professionalism, passion, and commitment.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 40%.
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite.
  • Experience with CRM tools.

  • Technical acumen to develop and deliver insights that support and challenge the customer's operation and catalyst buying behavior in a way that is beneficial to both organizations.
  • Ability to work with a team of highly effective technical and commercial experts to efficiently resolve issues and meet customer requests.
  • Identify inefficiencies in resources and gaps that prevent growth of business and guide Ketjen stakeholders to continual improvement with the account.
