Technical Requirement Systems Engineer
About the Role
We are looking for a Technical Requirements Systems Engineer who shares our drive to push boundaries and build secure, data-driven applications that make a real difference. In this role, you will support an immediate, high-priority modernization program. Working closely with Product Owners, Task Leads, and developers, you will act as the vital technical liaison translating complex customer workflows and business processes into actionable, high-quality requirements definitions. You will actively facilitate sprint execution, functional testing, and system demos to ensure flawless delivery.
Location & Work Environment
Primary Location: Annapolis Junction, MD. Work Style: On-site with up to 1 day per week of telework flexibility available.
Required Skills
- Clearance: Active TS/SCI Polygraph level clearance is required.
- Technical Environment Familiarity: Foundational awareness of software development using Java or JavaScript frameworks, RESTful microservices, and Cloud-based environments (AWS).
- Requirements Architecture: Proven experience working collaboratively with stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and document complex functional and technical requirements.
- Technical Liaison: Demonstrated track record acting as an expert bridge between clients and development teams, successfully managing expectations and communicating intricate technical details to varied audiences.
- Agile Engineering: Solid familiarity with Agile methodologies, sprint execution cycles, and core collaboration utilities like Jira and Confluence.
Education & Experience
- Level: Mid- to Senior-Level preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of seven (7) years of experience as a Systems Engineer, Technical Analyst, or Requirements Engineer on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, System Engineering, or a related technical discipline from an accredited college or university.
- Substitution: Four (4) years of additional engineering experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree (totaling 11 years of experience).
Desired Skills
- AI Solution Coordination: Experience coordinating the design, integration, and deployment of AI/ML-driven software solutions into legacy systems architecture.
- Strategic AI Consulting: Ability to serve as a key technical advisor on machine learning tradeoffs, implications, and recommended approaches to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Emerging Tech Research: Passion for staying current with the latest advancements in AI and machine learning to proactively optimize architecture.

Compensation & Benefits
Salary Range: $150,000 - $250,000 (USD) base annual salary. Actual compensation offered may vary based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level.

- Pay: Starts with 4 weeks of Annual Leave plus 11 holidays and an additional day of Annual Leave for each year at the company. Option to earn 1.3 times your hourly rate once you work over 1880 hours on contract.
