Technical Quality Control Technician - First Shift
About the role
Rotoflow, an Air Products Business, is seeking a first-shift Technical Quality Control Technician, Monday through Friday from 6:25 a.m. to 2:25 p.m., at our Rotoflow headquarters in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
Responsibilities
- Perform in-process, receiving, and final inspections to verify process control, equipment capability, product conformity, and overall product integrity.
- Inspect machinery components, equipment, assemblies on a planned, periodic, or sampling basis.
- Prepare accurate inspection reports, check sheets, test records, and other quality documentation to support traceability and customer requirements.
- Perform quality control inspections related to the fabrication, machining, assembly, and testing of complex turbomachinery components and welded pressure-containing equipment.
- Apply inspection methods including visual inspection, dimensional inspection, dye penetrant inspection, visual weld inspection, pneumatic and hydrostatic pressure testing, and magnetic particle inspection, as applicable.
- Maintain responsibility for gage control, including inventory, replacement planning, measurement capability, calibration frequency, accuracy, and traceability.
- Identify, document, and communicate nonconformances clearly and support timely resolution with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality leadership.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities focused on improving production flow, inspection effectiveness, documentation accuracy, and overall QC efficiency.
Requirements
- A High school diploma or GED is required.
- A technical, trade school, or associate degree coursework in a related field is preferred but is not required.
- Minimum of 3 years of consistent quality inspection or quality manufacturing experience is required; experience in precision machining, heavy fabrication, pressure vessels, or engineered-to-order equipment is strongly preferred.
- Quality-related certifications such as AWS CWI, API, NDT, ASQ, or equivalent credentials are preferred but not required.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and experience with SAP, MRP, or comparable software is required.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, inspection requirements, and manufacturing documentation.
- Strong time management skills, sound judgment, and excellent attention to detail in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document findings and communicate quality concerns professionally.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, adapt quickly to changing priorities, and support production schedules while maintaining quality standards.
- Strong safety focus and willingness to follow all site safety procedures, work instructions, and quality requirements.
- Reliable, dependable, organized, and able to work with a high level of accountability and professionalism.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform work in a manufacturing shop environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a union environment.
- A valid driver’s license and a good driving record are required.
- Availability to work first shift, Monday through Friday, 6:25 a.m. to 2:25 p.m.
- Flexibility to work overtime as business needs require.
Qualifications
A demonstrated ability to interpret and apply manufacturing drawings, inspection plans, specifications, standards, codes, and written procedures in a precision manufacturing environment.
Strong planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills related to quality issues in complex, engineered-to-order manufacturing operations.
Working knowledge of ASME requirements and ISO 9001 certified Quality Management Systems, with the ability to support consistent compliance with customer and internal requirements.
A strong understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) and the ability to apply it during dimensional inspection.
Proficient use of manual measuring equipment, including calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, height gauges, bore gauges, and related precision inspection tools.
Experience with CMM operation and/or programming is preferred.
A strong understanding of nonconformance identification, documentation, containment, disposition, and corrective-action support.
Experience using SAP, MRP, or comparable business systems to review work orders, inspection requirements, material status, and quality documentation.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $45,000 - $55,000 annually.
